HOW WE SUPPORT YOU
Motor neurone disease can change how a person walks, transfers, manages fatigue and completes everyday activities. As these needs change, therapy must be practical, responsive and based on the person’s real environment.
Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists assess movement, daily routines, equipment and accessibility in the participant’s home. This helps us recommend strategies and supports that are relevant to everyday life not based on what happens inside a clinic.
We work alongside participants, families, carers and support coordinators to address current priorities while preparing for future changes. Regular physiotherapy and occupational therapy reviews can help identify changing mobility, equipment and daily living needs.

The Back2You Therapy Difference for MND
Consistent Clinicians
Where possible, participants see the same therapist across ongoing appointments. This allows the clinician to understand established routines, recognise changes and build continuity with the participant and their support network.
Practical Recommendations
Assessments take place where daily activities actually happen. Equipment, transfer and accessibility recommendations are based on the participant’s home, current abilities and available support.
Coordinated NDIS Support
We communicate with participants, families, carers and support coordinators so that therapy recommendations, reports and future support needs are clearly understood.
PHYSIOTHERAPY & OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
MND Support Delivered Where Daily Life Happens
In-home therapy allows our clinicians to understand the participant’s movement, equipment, routines and physical environment together.
Depending on the participant’s needs, support may involve physiotherapy, occupational therapy or coordinated input from both disciplines.

YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT
What an In-Home MND Therapy Session Looks Like
Your first appointment focuses on understanding what has recently changed, which activities are becoming difficult and what support is most important right now.
1. Discuss Current Priorities
The therapist speaks with the participant and, where appropriate, family members or carers about mobility, fatigue, daily activities, equipment and immediate concerns.
2. Assess Function at Home
The clinician observes relevant activities such as walking, transferring, positioning, personal care or moving through the home.
3. Review Equipment and Access
Existing equipment, seating and home access are reviewed to identify safety concerns, unnecessary effort or emerging needs.
4. Agree on Practical Next Steps
The therapist explains immediate strategies and whether further therapy, equipment trials, reports or home modification recommendations may be appropriate.
5. Coordinate Ongoing Support
With consent, we can communicate relevant findings and recommendations to the participant’s family, support coordinator and broader care team.
YOUR CLINICAL TEAM
Meet Your MND Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team
Our AHPRA-registered physiotherapists and occupational therapists have experience across adult neurological rehabilitation, complex equipment, pressure care, postural management and home modifications.
We match each participant with the clinician whose discipline and experience best suit their current priorities. Where both physiotherapy and occupational therapy are involved, the clinicians can coordinate their recommendations so mobility, daily living, equipment and home access are considered together.
